“The EUCC is directly involved in formulating innovative European coastal
policy aimed at a sustainable use of the coastline whilst protecting areas
of high natural values. The work is being primarily conducted in the
European Union and the regional seas – the eastern Atlantic seaboard, the
Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.”
European Commission Funding
The European Commission described the work programme that received funding as
follows:
“EUCC will contribute to the formulation, implementation and awareness
of European environment policies for the coastal and marine, with a focus
on biodiversity (marine Natura 2000), sustainability and integrated
approaches (maritime policy, marine spatial planning) and climate change
(adaption and mitigation).”
