Fresno C<strong>on</strong>ference<br />
This year's C.L.S.A. C<strong>on</strong>ference<br />
in Fresno was an unqualified success,<br />
with some 295 registrants attending<br />
the technical sessi<strong>on</strong>s and a record 29<br />
exhibitors showing the latest in<br />
surveying equipment.<br />
Technical sessi<strong>on</strong>s included such<br />
subjects as early California Surveyors,<br />
the extent <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Fraudulent<br />
Survey areas in California, Title problems,Title<br />
by Acquiescence, the Surveyor's<br />
Right <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Trespass, Prescriptive<br />
Easements, and Ways <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
Avoiding Liability, am<strong>on</strong>g other<br />
topics. Also presented was a timely<br />
discussi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> real estate "Boom and<br />
Bust" cycles. On Saturday a tour <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
California State University at<br />
Fresno, the <strong>on</strong>ly nati<strong>on</strong>ally accredited<br />
school west <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Mississippi <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>fering<br />
a B.S. degree in <strong>Surveying</strong> and<br />
Photogrammetry, was given.<br />
Ladies activities included a tour <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
the Duncan Ceramics plant, a cosmetics<br />
dem<strong>on</strong>strati<strong>on</strong>, a tour <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />
Sun Maid growers facility, and a<br />
wine tasting tour.<br />
Sports events like the Golf and<br />
'Tennis Tournaments, and the 10 km.<br />
"Fun Run" provided enjoyment for<br />
many.<br />
Social Events included an<br />
exhibitor-sp<strong>on</strong>sored cocktail party, a<br />
dinner show at Roger Rocka's Good<br />
Company Music Hall where "Fiddler<br />
<strong>on</strong> the Ro<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> was a big success, and<br />
an evening <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Armenian food and<br />
dance.<br />
Thanks to the C<strong>on</strong>ference Committee,<br />
Exhibitors, and all the others<br />
who worked behind the scenes to<br />
make the 1980 C.L.S.A. C<strong>on</strong>ference<br />
a memorable and enjoyable <strong>on</strong>e. See<br />
