To all our valued customers who have

While TCS, the express logistics
company, was formally inaugurated
on the 4th of May 1983, it gave
new meaning to the word ‘express’
in 1985 when TCS signed up with
the Pakistan Banking Council to
expedite the clearance of outstation
cheques, and reduce the
processing time from three weeks
to seventy-two hours. The enormity
of what we accomplished at TCS
by the successful execution of that
Contract was such that we were
humbled in no
uncertain
manner. As a
result of our
taking up
that most
daunting,
and, in the
opinion of
some, foolhardy
challenge, the
velocity of
circulation of
money went up
manifold in the
national economy of
Pakistan, impacting
positively the
prosperity of trade,
commerce and
industry.
TCS helped turn
the system
around, and what came to be
known as the Banking Contract
occupies a preeminent place in the
history of TCS, an unrivalled
benchmark of what the private
sector can achieve when called
upon in the service of national

environments.
Given the storm clouds on the
world’s economic horizon, there is
a sense of urgency in the TCS rank
and file as it gears up for an
operating environment that will no
doubt be less than enabling. The

trail blazing roles, and made its
contribution to the development of
an entire industry focused on
express logistics.

Engineer Khalid Awan has come
a long way from those early days
when TCS was a boutique
operation, with his craft well piloted
by his trusted aide and TCS Group
CEO Jamil Janjua. Saqib Hamdani
has manned the action stations
during a crucial period of the firm’s
growth, first as Head of Operations,
then as Chief Operating Officer,
and now as the Chief Executive
Officer, overseeing the relentless
dynamics of a 24/7 operation. A lot
of blood, sweat, and tears have
gone into the making of this super
brand. These have been stripes
well earned.
