Glossary of Terms
The student outcomes disclosures presented here are intended to assist you in making an informed
decision about your educational future. In accordance with federal regulations, we have compiled
pertinent information regarding the cost of the program, typical financing options and obligations of
our graduates; and the success of our graduates with respect to on-time completion rates and
securing employment. We have presented the data on both an individual campus basis and where
applicable, on an OPEID level whereby results are combined for all branch campuses affiliated with
that campus.
Keep in mind, the information provided is based on current and historical data and does not
constitute a promise or guarantee of future performance. Additionally, there many factors which can
impact the amount of time required to complete a program, the amount of debt that a student may
incur; and/or a student’s success in finding employment after graduation. Our campus
representatives are available to discuss any questions you may have.
Glossary of Terms
1. CIP Code: The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) is a coding system for all post-secondary instructional
programs/fields of study that facilitates the organization, collection and reporting of program data. The CIP was
developed by the US Department of Education’s National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) and is the
accepted federal government statistical standard on instruction program classifications and is used in a variety of
educational information surveys and databases
2. Normal Time Completion Rate: Of the students who graduated between 7/1/11 and 6/30/12, what percentage
was able to fulfill the program requirements within the timeframe as published in the school catalog.
3. 150% of Normal Time: This measure is calculated by using the same cohort of graduates in the Normal Time
Completion Rate and expanding the parameter to account for those graduates who completed the requirements
within 1.5 times the program timeframe published in the school catalog. For example, if a student completed a 30
week program in 45 weeks, that would constitute completion within 150% of normal time
4. Median Loan Debt: The median is the middle number in a given sequence of numbers arranged in ascending
order (e.g. 5 is the median of 1, 2, 5, 7, 8). In the case of a series with an even number of data points, the median is
the average of the two middle numbers (e.g. 6 is the median of 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10). Median Loan Debt is a measure of
the outstanding loan obligations of those students who graduated between 7/1/11 and 6/30/12. This includes
federal, institutional and private loans incurred by these students in financing their educational program of study.
Loan debt will vary from student to student based on individual factors such as the student’s decision to pay for the
program from sources other than student loans or to borrow more than is needed to pay for the direct costs of
education.
5. SOC Code: The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes are used by Federal agencies to classify workers
into occupational categories. By clicking on the occupational profiles published in the program disclosure page,
individuals will be redirected to the O*Net website where additional information regarding the jobs and career
profiles for this educational program can be found. Certain programs may be associated with multiple
occupational profiles (SOC Codes).
6. Program Tuition: Program Tuition information is provided to inform prospective students of the current cost of
the academic program assuming normal time to completion. The Total Tuition and Fees includes all books and
supplies required of students. The school reserves the right to adjust the tuition and fees in accordance with
applicable statutes and regulations.
Lincoln Technical Institute
Edison, Paramus, Moorestown, Center City Philadelphia, North East Philadelphia Campuses

Glossary of Terms (cont’d)
7. Placement Rates
ACCSC or Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges placement rates are based on program length in
months. To determine the cohort date range, the ACCSC calculation counts backwards from the report date as
follow: program length times 1.5 plus 3 months for placement activity. As a result, the grad cohort group will vary
by program and is not likely to be to same as the grad cohort group used in other outcomes measures reported in
these disclosures.
ACICS or Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools placement rates are based on
graduates between 7/1/11 and 6/30/12 with placements through 11/1/12.
ABHES or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools placement rates are based on graduates
between 7/1/11 and 6/30/12 with placements through 10/12/12.
8. Conditional Accreditation: On May 8, 2012, the New Jersey Board of Nursing notified Lincoln Technical Institute
that our practical nursing programs in Edison, Moorestown and Paramus New Jersey, were placed on conditional
accreditation status due to our graduates licensing examination pass rates. This conditional accreditation status
will not impact student’s ability to sit for the licensure examination (NCLEX-PN), nor will the conditional
accreditation status impact the practical nursing program’s curriculum, equipment, faculty or staff, or other
student services provided during your enrollment at Lincoln Technical Institute.
Any student who requests additional information or has further questions regarding the conditional accreditation
status may contact the campus Director of Nursing. Students may also obtain additional information on conditional
accreditation regulations for practical nursing programs on the New Jersey Board of Nursing website at
www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nursing.
