Case 6068-MS
Madam and Gentlemen:
Attached are the UPDATED results of a petition AGAINST the Boughton Materials (BMI) Map
Amendment request from Agricultural-1 to Industrial-2, and for a Special Use Permit that would
permit the operation of a waste concrete recycling facility. The proposed rezoning and special
use permit, if granted, would not only be contrary to Will County Zoning Ordinance, it would be
extremely detrimental to the health and safety of our residents because of the release of
hazardous materials, additional air, noise, and water pollution, dust release, odors, the
significant increase of truck traffic, and unsightly stockpiles of recycled materials, all within
close proximity of schools, homes, public parks, and churches, as well as the DuPage River,
which traverses the Property.
The survey was restricted to residents at least 18 years old, and residing within two miles of the
Boughton Materials subject property (see attached sample Petition page).
888 directly impacted residents completed the petition OPPOSING the BMI applications.
We ask that you take these results into account, along with the 16 adjacent Homeowners
Associations with 6,064 households that voted to OPPOSE the BMI applications (see our
December 28, 2012 and February 7, 2013 letters).
