Summary Theory of the nickelates must bridge the gap between itinerant and localized behavior There are sharp ways to define the two regimes, that can be experimentally distinguished “site centered” versus “off-center” magnetic order electronic structure behavior in heterostructures These methods can readily be applied to heterostructures and interfaces, and lead to testable predictions e.g. Expect conductivity anisotropy enhanced in SDW state Reference: arXiv:1008.2373v1
