Interestingly, although not all “Touring” models per se, they are the first full line-up of CVO motorcycles aimed at touring with bags and a windshield. Perhaps not so surprising when you consider the many “firsts” pioneered by the CVO program. Now in its 12th year, Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) creations have offered the first taste of many Harley-Davidson developments. For instance, each bump in Twin Cam displacement – from 95 to 103 cubic-inch – first debuted on CVO models. Likewise, hundreds of now-famous H-D Genuine Motor Accessories were first featured on CVO models. In fact, it is the mixture of existing and exclusive Motor Accessories that gives the CVO motorcycles their characteristic billet-and-bling visual punch. Ditto for their unique, ultra-detailed (and ultra-expensive), multilayered paint schemes. If you have a sweet tooth for eye-candy, CVO motorcycles have the most sugar of any production motorcycle. Which is not to say that CVO models are saccharine. Far from it, actually. With a massive 115 ft.-lbs. of torque on tap via a Screamin’ Eagle ® 110 engine, each new CVO model has 20 percent more muscle than the stock 36 HOG

The 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission, Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection, and electronic throttle control (ETC) add just the right amount of civility. A major theme for 2011 is music to riders’ ears, literally. Except for the Electra Glide, all of the ’11 CVO models come with a complimentary 8GB iPod Nano, and all except the Softail come standard with XM Satellite Radio (including a three-month trial subscription). Matching the near-limitless possibilities for audio entertainment are impressive sound systems. The Road Glide ® Ultra model’s Boom!
