That’s my 1954 Corvette and my new 2010 Harley-
Davidson Forty-Eight model. I’ve had the ’Vette for 48
years (coincidentally) and the Forty-Eight less than a
year. To show you where my heart’s at these days, I’ve
put the car up for sale and am keeping the bike. I love it
– and it’s very easy for me to handle at my size (small).

My twin brother and I bought these matching 2010
CVO Electra Glide® Ultra Classic® motorcycles three
days apart in September 2009 and have been riding
them, turning heads, ever since. He is Vance and I am
Lance. Or perhaps it’s the other way around.

Statue of No Limitations
I purchased my first Harley,® a Sportster® 1200 Custom,
as a gift to myself when I found out I passed the Illinois
Bar Exam. After a while, I wanted something bigger
so I could “keep up” with my husband and his friends
on their Harleys. In 2008, I was looking forward to
riding to Milwaukee for the grand opening of the H-D
Museum,® but I couldn’t make it because I was on my
way out to Afghanistan with my unit in the Illinois
National Guard. But I purchased my dream bike,
a Dyna® Screamin’ Eagle,® a few days before I left.
I returned from Afghanistan in fall 2009 and finally
have been able to ride my bike this year, which
included a trip to Milwaukee to see the Museum.
As a soldier and a lawyer, I always find time to ride
my Harley, and I love every minute of it!
