The New England Electric Railway Historical<br />
Society is a nonprofit educational<br />
institution dedicated to <strong>the</strong> preservation,<br />
exhibition, and operation of urban<br />
and interurban transit vehicles from <strong>the</strong><br />
mid-nineteenth century to <strong>the</strong> present. It<br />
operates <strong>the</strong> <strong>Seashore</strong> <strong>Trolley</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> in<br />
Kennebunkport, Maine, and <strong>the</strong> National<br />
Streetcar <strong>Museum</strong> at Lowell in Lowell,<br />
Massachusetts. Its collection is displayed,<br />
interpreted, conserved, and operated for<br />
<strong>the</strong> public.<br />
