Tabata is a high intensity interval<br />

training using a variety of simple,<br />

intense exercises. Each class will blast<br />

calories and provide noticeable results in<br />

a short amount of time. This class will<br />

provide muscle tone, weight loss or<br />

both. Bring a yoga mat.<br />

Techniques<br />

Everyone needs to stretch. From tight<br />

muscles due to lack of use or injury, we<br />

new!<br />

all need to stretch. Come<br />

learn the quickest and easiest<br />

way. Using two different techniques:<br />

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular<br />

Facilitation (PNF) and Active Isolated<br />

Stretching (AIS). You will gain the<br />

greatest range of motion faster than any<br />

static-type stretching. Improve your<br />

range of motion safer and easier than<br />

any other technique. Bring a mat and a<br />

bath towel (not too thick). Park on the<br />

west side (back of the building), and<br />

enter through Door E.<br />

Let’s Hike!<br />

We are the Outdoor Health Club! Join us<br />

for fitness walking, learning about a<br />

healthy diet and much more. After this<br />

first class, the Outdoor Health Club<br />

meets Monday and Thursday evenings at<br />

a variety of parks, parkways, and<br />

wildlife sanctuaries to help you do your<br />

fitness walking on one of more than 100<br />

local trails around the Twin Cities. Then<br />

after your walk, join us for a healthy<br />

picnic or potluck. On weekends we<br />

venture farther away to places like Red<br />

Wing’s Barn Bluff, White Water State<br />

Park and Jay Cooke State Park. We have<br />

nearly 170 events per year. We will walk<br />

at the first meeting so wear your<br />

walking shoes. Learn easy tips to stay<br />

healthier longer and have fun in the<br />

process. Kent Barker is a scientist who,<br />

in his early years, developed equipment<br />

for heart and lung bypasses, he has<br />

continued his quest for a healthier<br />

lifestyle when he started Let’s Hike,<br />

Outdoor Health Club 21 years ago.<br />

Aqua Zumba<br />

Known as the Zumba “pool party”, Aqua<br />

Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of<br />

an invigorating workout. Splashing,<br />

stretching, twisting, laughing and even<br />

shouting, are often heard during a class.<br />

Integrating the Zumba formula and<br />

philosophy with traditional aqua fitness<br />

disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all<br />

together into a safe, challenging, water<br />

based workout that’s cardioconditioning,<br />

body toning and most of<br />

all fun! It is not your typical aerobics<br />

class, you will dance in the water at your<br />

own speed. Aqua Zumba is exercise in<br />

disguise. Registration is required for<br />

this class (water fitness cards will not<br />

be accepted). Park on the west side<br />

(back of the building), and enter<br />

through Door G.<br />
