Learn the fascinating art of 3-D wet
felting. Using wool and a little soapy
new!
water, felt a small vessel to
hold trinkets, chocolates or
to simply brighten up any shelf. Choose
bright or natural colors, then “sculpt”
your vessel into any shape from organic
to contemporary. You can even make it
reversible. $20 supply fee paid to
instructor in class. Bring 3 hand
towels, a scissors and a plastic bag to
carry home wet items.

Viking Weave Jewelry

Viking weave is an art form that has
been used for centuries. Wire is handwoven
around a mandrel and then pulled
through a drawplate to secure the
intricate weave. Completed pieces are
elegant, durable and one-of-a-kind. It’s
as easy as sewing or knitting. Once you
have learned the technique, you’ll be
making jewelry pieces for friends and
family for years to come. You’ll leave
the class with a completed bracelet in
silver, copper, gold or bronze. They are
tarnish proof and last a lifetime (and
longer). $20 kit fee paid to instructor
in class, which includes the drawplate
($24 value) and all other supplies
needed to complete your bracelet.

Bonsai - Introduction
Lionel Flood
Explore the ancient art of Bonsai. We
will discuss the art and history of
Bonsai, with a tree of your own to style.
The first day covers style, art and branch
placement. The second class covers
potting the tree and additional
refinement. Students should bring to
class: chop sticks of their choice, wire
cutters, pliers (not needle nose),
pruning shears and garden scissors.
Instructor will have some tools to share
so it is not necessary for students to
purchase their own tools. $30 supply fee
paid to instructor in class.

Beginning Broomstick Lace

Broomstick lace is also known as “jiffy
lace” because of how quickly it forms
new!
the lace. Also known as
peacock lace, broomstick
lace dates back to the late 1800s, and is
still in use today. This technique has
been used throughout history to create
items ranging from blankets to shawls to
clothing. It is worked with a crochet
hook and a large knitting needle (that
mimics a broom handle). It uses two
very basic crochet stitches: the single
crochet and the chain stitch. The
simplicity of this stitch makes it a good
project for beginning crocheters, who
already know the basics and want to
create intricate projects - without
learning new skills. To create a scarf
you will need a size 50 (25mm)
knitting needle and a crochet hook
size H, one skein worsted weight yarn,
a small scissors, pencil and paper.
