Activity 3: Will’s World – Researching Aspects of Shakespeare’s Times<br />

Time: 6 hours<br />

Description<br />

Students conduct research about the Shakespearean era, create a media work based on their research, and<br />

present it to the class. Students practise research and note taking, create a bibliography, and take notes<br />

from the presentations of their peers.<br />

Oral and Visual Communication<br />

EORV.01 - initiate, sustain, and conclude conversations and discussions on a wide variety of topics on<br />

personal, social, and academic interests;<br />

EORV.04 - create and analyse a variety of media works, in forms appropriate for different purposes and<br />

audiences;<br />

EOR1.01 - make effective presentations on classroom topics, with some teacher guidance;<br />

EOR4.03 - create media works for different purposes and explain how the purpose influenced their<br />

design decisions in each case.<br />

Reading<br />

EREV.06 - use a range of research strategies independently to gather information for a variety of<br />

purposes;<br />

ERE4.01 - gather information from a variety of sources, including electronic databases, websites, and<br />

online libraries;<br />

ERE4.03 - prepare a bibliography of print and electronic sources consulted during research;<br />

EWRV.03 - organize and link ideas logically and effectively in written texts such as narratives and<br />
