Shakespeare’s Time Assignment Checklist<br />

Use the following checklist to ensure that you have completed all aspects of the assignment:<br />

Choose your research partners – three per group.<br />

Select a research topic.<br />

Confirm your choice with the teacher.<br />

Conduct your research:<br />

• Use at least one book, one Internet site, and one encyclopedia.<br />

• Find ten facts on your topic from the resources.<br />

• Locate visuals (diagrams, illustrations, photographs, etc.) that support the topic.<br />

Make point-form notes IN YOUR OWN WORDS on your research.<br />

Prepare your bibliography (references-cited sheet).<br />

Peer edit your written work to check content, spelling, and point-form.<br />

Word process your final draft.<br />

Prepare your poster:<br />

• Assemble written and visual work on poster paper or a Bristol board.<br />

• Check that your work is neatly arranged, concise, and error-free.<br />

• Be prepared to explain your design decisions.<br />

• Affix the bibliography to the back of the poster.<br />

Organize your presentation.<br />

• Be sure that each person in the group has an equal speaking part.<br />

• Prepare cue cards for the presentation.<br />

• Include an introduction and conclusion.<br />

• Refer to your poster throughout the presentation.<br />

• Explain your poster’s organization (design decisions).<br />

Rehearse your presentation to ensure that:<br />

• All members of your group participate equitably.<br />

• The topic is introduced and concluded.<br />

• Main points are explained clearly and succinctly.<br />

• Cue cards are used appropriately.<br />

• Each person speaks clearly, slowly, emphatically, and with enthusiasm.<br />

• Your presentation lasts for ten minutes.<br />

Submit all research notes and rough drafts with the poster.<br />
