4 The Portuguese Group of <strong>AIPPI</strong> has been actively participating in nearly all<br />
the industrial property initiatives held in <strong>Portugal</strong>, namely in Seminars and in<br />
the drawing-up of the new Industrial Property Code, which is due to come into<br />
force on 1 st July of this year.<br />
During 2002, the Portuguese Group widely disclosed the activities of <strong>AIPPI</strong> to<br />
the members of the Government through circulars and publications sent to<br />
Ministers and Secretaries of State, as well as to various national associations:<br />
the Confederation of Portuguese Industry (CIP), the Portuguese Delegation of<br />
the International Chamber of Commerce and APIFARMA - the Portuguese<br />
Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry.<br />
The Committee that drew up the new Industrial Property Code, which consists<br />
of 10 members, includes the following members of the Portuguese Group:<br />

5 The Portuguese Industrial Property Office (I.N.P.I. - Instituto Nacional da<br />
Propriedade Industrial), as well as the Board of Directors (consisting of 3<br />
members), also has an Advisory Board comprising 4 members, 3 of whom<br />
