62 APPENDIX A. SEARCH FOR A FAMILY and in some cases visiting them in person. I have made three visits to Ireland myself searching Births, Deaths and Marriages with most existing records too late to catch our family. I also searched the Registry of Deeds and some other archives. I visited Colpe and Bettystown in Meath, Mount Rath in County Laoise and Waterford city, where records had found that the family had lived. Back in Australia, I sought out publications in the State and other libraries with little success. And then, with the approaching 150th Anniversary of the arrival of John and Eliza Belcher in Australia, I sat down to write up on a word processor as much as I could of the information I had gathered. I also used the computer program Generations to set out the Family Trees. This publication is the result of my efforts in genealogical research and in literature. The format and the publication are the work of my son, William, who knows far more of the use of computers that I ever will.
