The Tyco Fire Products (TFP) Residential Fire
Protection Package offers a diverse line of products
that are aesthetically pleasing, as well as functional.
Our residential sprinklers are among the most water
and pressure efficient in the fire protection industry.
They are available in recessed pendent, sidewall
and recessed sidewall types, as well as low profile
concealed and flush styles. Adequate water supply to
fire sprinklers is critical for proper fire protection.
The residential domestic shutoff valve, which
automatically shuts off essentially all of the water
flow to the domestic system when a sprinkler operates,
assures that nearly the entire water supply is diverted
to the fire sprinkler system. BlazeMaster CPVC pipe
and fittings, along with the necessary hangers and
pipe joint adhesives help make the TFP Residential
Fire Protection Package the best and most complete
in the industry.
Customer Service
TFP residential package consists of
products manufactured by TFP and
distributed through local TFP locations
or independent distributors that are
strategically located to provide our
customers with the quickest delivery
possible of their complete order.
2
Research & Development
TFP has the largest research and
development staff in the fire
protection industry. We combine
new technologies with proven fire
protection science to provide the
products necessary to meet the
present and future building needs.

from one piping material to another
simple. The transition to steel or
BlazeMaster ® CPVC Fire Sprinkler
System piping from traditional copper
tube for plumbing services is fast,
easy, and readily available in the most
complete Fire Sprinkler package in
the industry.
TFP BlazeMaster ® CPVC can be used with the entire
LFII line in residential occupancies.
8
(Note: for complete Listing and Approval information, please
refer to the Installation Instructions and Technical Manual No.
19-1.0 or call Technical Services at 800-381-9312)
The “Back-to-Back”
Fitting is included in the
TFP line of BlazeMaster ®
CPVC products.This TEE
allows two sidewall sprinklers
to be piped into one fitting.
This is ideal when the CPVC
piping is located in a 3-1/2" (2x4)
vertical wall, eliminating the need for
extra nipples, fittings and sprinkler
head adapters typically associated
with supplying two rooms with the
same pipe.The “Back-to-Back” TEE
has been specially designed and
dimensioned to enable the sidewall
sprinklers to be recessed with 1/2" or
5/8" sheet-rock wall covering.

The Tyco Fire Products CPVC Piping Systems, an
extremely fast method of installing fire protection
piping, is UL and cUL Listed and FM approved. The
CPVC products exceed ASTM standards, and includes
our 10 Year Warranty from an ISO 9001-2000 Certified
Company. Benefits over traditional piping systems include:
• Easily field fabricates with low tooling investment
•Resistant to rust, scale and foreign
contaminant build-up
•Superior flow characteristics for increased
hydraulic capabilities (C-Factor=150)
• Easily transported, handled
and modified on site
•Can be easily connected to
copper and steel piping
•Resists sweating and condensation
•Immune to microbiologically
influenced corrosion (MIC)
TFP's Revolutionary
“No Block” Hanger is a
simple two-hole strap that eliminates
“blocking” to the beam when hanging
CPVC.The “No Block” Hanger
positions the face of the CPVC pipe
1-1/2" off the face of the joist or stud.
Fire Performance
• CPVC has an LOI (Limited Oxygen Index) that is
better than wood, PVC, PB or other common
building materials. It will not support combustion;
therefore, it cannot be the source of a fire or cause a
fire to spread.
•Does not contribute to flashover
•Low smoke generation
•Toxicity is extremely low when compared with
common building and finishing materials.
Equal to wood and less than wool or cotton
(University of Pittsburgh protocol).
9

Residential Domestic Shutoff Valve
• 1" and 2" (25.4 and 50.8 mm) are used in piping systems that
supply water to both the domestic service and the fire sprinkler
system designed per NFPA 13D in one and two-family dwellings
and mobile homes
•In the set position, water is available on demand to the
domestic system and the valve acts as a check valve for the fire
protection system
• When a sprinkler operates, the supply to the domestic system is
automatically shut off
• Maximum use of available water supply on demand for fire protection
•Eliminates the need for expensive pumps, pressurized
tanks, or electrically operated domestic shutoff valves
Model F540, Residential Domestic Shutoff Valve
“Butterball” Butterfly Valves
“Butterball” Butterfly valves are ideal for use in small fire sprinkler
systems as sectional or main control valves. As an alternative to bulky
OS&Y valves, they provide the mandated visual indicator showing that the
valve is open or closed. They are available in sizes from 1" through 2-1/2".
Resi-Riser
• Compact, pre-assembled, ready to install sprinkler riser
• Brass construction for use in potable water supply
•Available in 1"-2" (25-50 mm) sizes
• Integral test and drain assembly, flow switch with retard mechanism,
300 psi gauge, and check valve
• Compact size allows for easy installation between
Recognizing that residential sprinklers are being installed in many areas where
conditions are not as described specifically in the code standards, TFP has
generated a Residential Sprinkler Design Guide to help the fire sprinkler
designer and installer correctly apply the sprinkler spacing and hydraulic
calculations. This design guide covers many topics including spacing in sloped
ceiling conditions, obstructions to the sprinkler pattern, location of
sprinklers in odd shaped rooms or near heat sources, and much,
C
much more. This Design Guide can be obtained by contacting any
