he orient<strong>at</strong>ion team has been working hard over the fall semester to provide a program th<strong>at</strong> will help<br />
you become a successful UH <strong>Hilo</strong> student. As new Vulcans, you share something in common <strong>at</strong>tending<br />
UH <strong>Hilo</strong> is a NEW experience for all <strong>of</strong> you! You all are now part <strong>of</strong> the UH <strong>Hilo</strong> ‘ohana (family). This<br />
is YOUR opportunity to step out <strong>of</strong> your comfort zone, meet new friends, get involved in leadership roles and/or<br />
activities, and to take responsibility for your academic goals. During the next two days, student leaders, faculty and<br />
staff will provide support and direct you to resources th<strong>at</strong> will help you during your college career. The enclosed<br />
schedule is specifically designed to give you the tools to help you succeed during your first semester <strong>at</strong> UH <strong>Hilo</strong> and<br />
beyond. You are EXPECTED to <strong>at</strong>tend each session. In these sessions, we are providing you all the resources th<strong>at</strong> you<br />
will need to be informed and prepared for the semester. We also encourage you to particip<strong>at</strong>e in the social activities<br />
as these foster a sense <strong>of</strong> community. You’ve invested in yourself by particip<strong>at</strong>ing in orient<strong>at</strong>ion – so make the most<br />
<strong>of</strong> your experiences. More importantly, make the most <strong>of</strong> your time as a UH <strong>Hilo</strong> Vulcan!<br />
