MULTICULTURAL CENTER PRAGUE<br />

The Multicultural Center Prague is a non-profit organisation concerned with <strong>in</strong>ter-ethnic<br />

relations <strong>and</strong> migrants’ rights <strong>in</strong> the Czech Republic <strong>and</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Europe</strong>.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>ce its foundation <strong>in</strong> 1999, the Centre has been atta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g its goals through<br />

public debates, a variety of educational <strong>and</strong> cultural activities, research, publications <strong>and</strong> the<br />

establishment of l<strong>in</strong>ks between <strong>in</strong>dividuals <strong>and</strong> organisations with similar aims <strong>in</strong> the Czech<br />

Republic <strong>and</strong> abroad.<br />

Information Centre <strong>and</strong> Library<br />

The collection of resources <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>formation related to multicultural issues,<br />

<strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividuals <strong>in</strong> the Czech Republic is available to visitors of the Centre.<br />

Press monitor<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> a regular [multikulti] newsletter make up an essential part of the<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation services provided.<br />

The library offers about 2500 books, periodicals, films or other resources on ethnic<br />

m<strong>in</strong>orities, immigrants, nationalism, gender, religion, <strong>in</strong>tercultural tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> education,<br />

or multicultural librarianship <strong>in</strong> the Czech Republic <strong>and</strong> abroad.<br />

The <strong>in</strong>formation centre <strong>and</strong> library's open<strong>in</strong>g hours are on Monday<br />

from 10,00 to 15,00 <strong>and</strong> Thursday from 12,00 to 19,00. The catalogue is at:<br />

Focus on <strong>Central</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Europe</strong><br />

<strong>Migration</strong> Onl<strong>in</strong>e is a specialised website focus<strong>in</strong>g on migration issues<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>Central</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Europe</strong>. It is based on the cooperation of an <strong>in</strong>ternational network<br />

of analysts <strong>and</strong> organisations. It's aim is to promote dialogue <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational comparisons<br />

<strong>in</strong> the field of migration. As various research results demonstrated, many forms of migration<br />

movement take place with<strong>in</strong> the region of <strong>Central</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Eastern</strong> <strong>Europe</strong>an countries.<br />

What policy conditions have been created for migrants to come, work, settle or return back<br />

home? The English version of the website at www.migrationonl<strong>in</strong>e.cz offers both orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />

<strong>and</strong> republished analyses, <strong>in</strong>terviews <strong>and</strong> reports, mapp<strong>in</strong>g large scales of migration<br />

processes <strong>in</strong> the region.<br />
