Profess<strong>or</strong> of Music Doug Spaniol has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar<br />
Award. From January to June of 2012 Profess<strong>or</strong> Spaniol will be teaching<br />
at the <strong>University</strong> of Y<strong>or</strong>k and conducting further research on the pedagogical<br />
bassoon w<strong>or</strong>ks of Julius Weissenb<strong>or</strong>n using surviving documents that<br />
are housed in a private collection in England.<br />
Seni<strong>or</strong> Adam Weaver (Music) has received a Fulbright Foundation<br />
Teaching Assistantship. Weaver will teach English at the Academié de<br />
Rouon in N<strong>or</strong>mandy, France.<br />
Juni<strong>or</strong> Stephen Duncan (Music) has been named the<br />
alternate in the International Double Reed Society’s<br />
Young Artist competition (the most prestigious<br />
bassoon competition f<strong>or</strong> players under twenty-two<br />
years of age). M<strong>or</strong>e to come, as it is possible that<br />
Stephen will have the opp<strong>or</strong>tunity to compete!<br />
