Absorbent Pads
Oil Eater announces an eco-friendly line of absorbent pads
made of natural plant by-products and featuring woven construction.
One benefit of the pads is they absorb up to 20 percent
more than melt-blown polypropylene pads. The line includes Oil
Only Pads and Rolls to soak up yet repel water; Universal Pads
and Rolls to soak up oil, water and other liquids; and Absorbent
Socks to control large spills and
protect drains. Product
sizes range from 16 by
18 inches to 28
inches by 150-
foot rolls.

Bearing Materials
Metallized Carbon Corporation introduces Metcar grades M-161
and M-162 mechanical materials for running at elevated temperatures.
The carbon/graphite Babbitt are designed to operate in difficult environments,
at temperatures up to 350°F. These grades are typically used
for moderate loads at medium and high speeds. The bearings are selflubricating,
nongalling, dimensionally
stable and have high compressive
strength. The Babbitt impregnation
provides wear resistance
and enhanced lubrication for
bearing and thrust washers
for submerged and dry
environments.

Basket Strainers
Micromold Products Inc. has developed a highly corrosionresistant,
all-plastic Fluor-O-Shield basket strainer that captures
substantial undissolved solids. The Kynar PVDF basket strainers
remove suspended or waste solids from corrosive or high-purity fluid
streams to prevent damage to sensitive downstream equipment. The
strainers are impervious to UV radiation, are FDA-compliant, resistant
to radiation and hot acids, and are capable of handling nuclear waste
processing. Sizes range from one-half to three inches, with a variety of
connections and mesh screens available.

Oil Absorbents
PetroLiance LLC has expanded its Medallion Plus product line to
include a new selection of industrial absorbent for use in a variety of
industrial, automotive and
maintenance applications. The
Medallion Plus DE oil absorbent
was developed to provide better
performance and ease of
handling than other adsorbent
and floor-dry materials, including
bentonite clay or cellulose-based
absorbents. The product can be
disposed of similar to conventional
refuse.

that remove course/fine particulate matter.
A water-absorbing element may also be
installed to further remove particulate
