At the time of Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo‘s birth in 1920, there were only two cars on the island of
Bahrain. Within a decade this had increased seventy-fold with the demands of oil exploration,
despite the ravages of the Great Depression. In the years following World War II, Ebrahim
established himself as a leading importer of automobiles and parts, securing in 1966 the sole
authorized distributorship in Bahrain of Toyota automobiles, industrial vehicles and related
services.
Today, with more than 50 years of commitment to service excellence, E.K. Kanoo is universally
acknowledged as one of the island‘s automotive pioneers, developing and exceeding
expectations in the automotive business. The next generation of the Kanoo family is now fully
involved in the business and is building their careers, and the business, in the founder‘s
footsteps.
However much the world has changed from the humble days of yesteryear, E.K. Kanoo‘s
traditional courtesy and respect for customers and employees alike are undeniable constant.
This, and the Group‘s impeccable reputation for trust, will enable it to face the challenges that
lie ahead.
Management Say:
At the Ebrahim K. Kanoo B.S.C.(c), every member of staff is vital to the success of the
organization. Since its foundation the group has operated an open door policy aimed at
rewarding initiatives that contribute to excellence in quality service and standards.
Continuous professional learning & development of employees have been the driving force
behind the group's growth. Learning and development processes are appropriate mechanisms
to facilitate the development of a learning culture. The group has made significant leap in
transforming towards being a learning organization through addressing employee expectations
and demands for learning. The contribution of this transformation is being realized through the
development of better customer relations, enhancement of human capital, the creation of
employee commitment and loyalty and a contribution to organizational sustainability and its
continuity.
Establishing the link between business and professional development of its human capital
assists Ebrahim K. Kanoo to develop innovative solutions and approaches to meet the
competitive edge of business challenges, further enhancing organizational effectiveness and
performance.
