Jack Warren Education Trust<br />

About the Trust<br />

The trust will advance education in the areas <strong>of</strong> appraisal and valuation in the following ways:<br />

• By providing financial assistance through scholarships and bursaries to members <strong>of</strong> the public<br />

who wish to undertake a course <strong>of</strong> studies in<br />

the areas <strong>of</strong> appraisal and valuation.<br />

• The <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> has academic requirements for accreditation and requires<br />

candidates to complete a prescribed course <strong>of</strong> studies.<br />

• Persons wishing to enter the accreditation program OR those enrolled<br />

in it will be eligible for assistance.<br />

• Scholarships will be awarded on the basis <strong>of</strong> academic achievement.<br />

• Bursaries will be granted on the basis <strong>of</strong> financial need.<br />

Applications are available by contacting the BC Association <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> or<br />

by visiting www.appraisal.bc.ca/publications and selecting Application Forms.<br />

News Flash!<br />

The Directors <strong>of</strong> the Jack Warren Education<br />

Trust are pleased to announce that they will<br />

be awarding two AIC conference registrations<br />

to two selected Jack Warren Trust recipients<br />

each year.<br />

The free registrations will be randomly<br />

drawn from the names <strong>of</strong> all past Jack Warren<br />

Education Trust recipients who are current<br />

members in good standing <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Appraisal</strong><br />

Deadline for application is August 31, 2008<br />

<strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong>. The draw will be made each<br />

April and individuals will be notified so that travel<br />

arrangements may be made in plenty <strong>of</strong> time.<br />

These prizes do not include transportation<br />

or accommodation to/from/at the conference.<br />

Winning conference registrations are for the<br />

exclusive use <strong>of</strong> the Jack Warren Educational<br />

Trust recipients and only for the current year<br />

conference. They may not be transferred to other<br />

individuals or delayed to a future conference.<br />

The registration fee will be reimbursed<br />

following the conference upon confirmation <strong>of</strong><br />

attendance.<br />

CRITICAL DATES<br />

The following dates are provided as a reminder to <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Institute</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> (AIC) members <strong>of</strong> critical dates throughout the year:<br />

July 31, 2008 – Candidates report annual course completion for<br />

processing in advance <strong>of</strong> September 1, 2008 deadline<br />

September 30, 2008 – Membership dues payment due date<br />

December 31, 2008 – CPD reporting deadline (minimum annual<br />

requirement is 6 credits)<br />

January 1, 2009 – Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Liability Insurance levy<br />

payment due date<br />

January 1, 2009 – Deadline to complete We Value <strong>Canada</strong><br />

The following members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong> have<br />

passed away. On behalf <strong>of</strong> everyone connected with the <strong>Institute</strong> and<br />

the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, we extend our sincerest sympathies to the families,<br />

friends and associates.<br />
