The graph of y = 3x + 3 is shown in Fig 11 which is a straight line.<br />

(i) Point of intersection of the line with x-axis is – (1, 0)<br />

Point of intersection of the line with y-axis is (0, 3)<br />

(ii)<br />

x – intercept is „-1‟ (It is the intercept of the line on the x – axis)<br />

y-intercept is „3‟ You can also find it directly as c = 3)<br />

(iii)<br />

From the graph, we see that (–2, –3) lies on the line <strong>and</strong> (3, -2) does not lie on<br />

the line.<br />

You can also check the above facts by directly substituting the values of x <strong>and</strong> y in the<br />

equation it self.<br />
