At <strong>the</strong> outset we would like to thank <strong>the</strong> <strong>teachers</strong>, teacher educators <strong>and</strong> administrators<br />

who shared <strong>the</strong>ir pr<strong>of</strong>essional experiences with us <strong>and</strong> enabled us to gain an insight into<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>twists</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>turns</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>everyday</strong> <strong>practice</strong> <strong>of</strong> being a teacher in India. This booklet would<br />

facilitate group discussions <strong>and</strong> individual interviews with key players in <strong>the</strong> education<br />
