SIDDHIA HUTCHINSON GALLERY OPENS
AT NEW VIEQUES ISLAND LOCATION
Siddhia Hutchinson, Artist and Gallery Director,
has announced the opening date of a new
signature gallery location at the historic Hotel
Carmen on Calle Muñoz Rivera better known as
Main Street, Isabel II.
The gala grand opening is planned for
Saturday, November 26, 2011, 6PM-8PM and
will feature a group show representing the gallerie’s
current roster of fine artists.
“I’ve had my eye on this incredible building
for years, and long thought it the ideal location
for a gallery on Vieques. Today, together with
my new business partner and fellow artist,
Glen Wielgus, it’s become a reality and I’m
more thrilled than you can imagine to see this
historic building re-imagined and for us to
continue to represent the very best mix of local
fine artists as well as introduce talent from
around the world to our wonderful Vieques

Since 1985 Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art
Gallery has been Vieques preeminent fine art
gallery featuring Caribbean inspired artwork
including original paintings, sculpture, ceramics,
photographs, prints, jewelry and more. The
gallery has been home to many native Puerto
Rican artists over it’s many years as well as
featuring artists from the United States and Europe.
Hutchinson’s artistic viewpoint has longcentered
on and around the spectacular natural
beauty and local culture of the island and the
majority of her original artwork and the gallery’s
in general represents this doctrine. Featured
artists currently represented by the gallery
include: Birdie Britton, Joseph Conforti, Sarah
Cook, Siddhia Hutchinson, R. A. Moseley, Hattie
Notman, Jeanne Peech, Richard Stauffacher,
Mary Stratford, Caleb Stone and Glen Wielgus
In addition to the new gallery’s prime location
and visibility, the space offers a modular
movable wall system, offering flexibility for the
changing exhibition space, increased hanging
space, state-of-the-art lighting, and convenient
parking availability for guests and customers.
The gallery is also looking forward to the
November opening of its next-door neighbor, the
gourmet provisions merchant Buen Provecho
that is scheduled to open its new location in the
Hotel Carmen building as well. The synergy between
the gallery and this attractive neighbor is
sure to enhance the vitality of the western end of
Main Street in a most beneficial way, transforming
the block into a new destination for Island
visitors and residents alike.

LA GALERIA DE SIDDHIA HUTCHINSON
ABRE SU NUEVO LOCAL EN VIEQUES
Siddhia Hutchinson, artista y Directora de la
galería, ha anunciado la fecha de apertura de su
nueva galería, localizada en el histórico Hotel
Carmen, en la Calle Muñoz Rivera, mejor conocida
como la Calle Principal de Isabel II.
La gala de apertura está pautada para el
sábado, 26 de noviembre de 2011, 6PM-8PM y
contará con una exposición grupal representando
a los artistas plásticos de la galería.

era el lugar ideal para una galería en Vieques.

y que continuará representando la mejor
combinación de artistas plásticos, así como la
introducción de talento de todo el mundo a nuestra

Desde 1985, la Galería de Bellas Artes de Siddhia
Hutchinson ha sido la más destacada galería
de Vieques, con obras de arte inspiradas en el
Caribe, que incluyen pinturas originales, esculturas,
cerámicas, fotografías, impresos, y joyas,
entre otros. Durante muchos años, la galería ha
sido hogar de muchos artistas de Puerto Rico, así
como para artistas de Estados Unidos y Europa.
El punto de vista artístico de Hutchinson siempre
ha estado centrado alrededor de la espectacular
belleza natural y la cultura local y la mayoría
de sus obras de arte y la galería en general,
representan esta doctrina. Entre los artistas
representados actualmente por la galería se encuentran:

La galería también espera con entusiasmo la
apertura en noviembre de su vecino, la tienda de
provisiones gourmet Buen Provecho, que también
abrirá su nuevo local en el edificio del Hotel
Carmen. La combinación de ambos de seguro
mejorará la vitalidad de la parte oeste de la calle
principal, de forma beneficiosa, transformándola
en un nuevo destino, tanto para visitantes como
para residentes de la Isla.
