Obituary
Thompsons Lake
By
Lora
Ricketts
872-1691
It was another great weekend
with the grandchildren and
great- grandchildren.
On Saturday, Samson and Nichole
got to see Danielle and her
boyfriend, Matt Babcock.
Then in the afternoon we went
to the East Berne firehouse for
a visit with Santa hosted by the
fire company. The children received
presents from Santa Claus
and he was very patient with
their parents and grandparents
taking pictures.
Next Samson and Nichole
decorated the Christmas tree at
their dad’s house. Then came an
invite for dinner at their friend,
Jenn Smith’s and her son, Iain’s
house. Also invited were Marcia
Pangburn, their grandmother
and Aunt Kyra Swan. Then Iain
invited all of us out for ice cream
at Stewart’s. He paid for this
treat with his own money he won
from a scratch off drawing.
Jenn had bought us all scratch
offs just for fun. Iain won $20,
Jenn $2, and I won $1. We put it
all together for the ice cream.
At Sunday school the children
had a little party, did a craft,
and got a gift. Samson asked
me why we receive gifts? My
answer was because the Wise
Men brough gifts to Baby Jesus.
Samson said he doesn’t want
anything for Christmas! But we
all know he’ll be very happy with
the gifts he receives. I am very
proud of him.
Christmas Time Is…
By Alice Kessely Roberts
Christmas time’s
for dreaming
Thoughts of long ago…
Holidays of childhood,
Memories all aglow.
Christmas time’s for music,
Carols and angel choirs…
Hymns from
snow-capped steeples,
Glowing ember’s fires.
Christmas time’s for loving
Friends and kindred, too…
All the weak and friendless,
All the tried and true.
Christmas time’s for praying
That our hearts may see
Over stars and candles…
To Eternity.
Cheer the homebound
I received a card from Pat
Ward and Don Van Hoesen. She
wrote about her mom, at 91 her
memory is very short, but in the
moment she enjoys visitors and
mail and would love a Christmas
greeting.
Her address is: Shirley Ward,
