Discussed Camp Branch renovations. Currently 5 prisoners to a room. DOC looking<br />

to expand to 3 double beds, 6 in a room. The possible addition of 22 beds would<br />

increase the population to 540.<br />

Discussed the E-8 gun posts. Nothing yet back from DOC.<br />

Reviewed an election challenge at SMN. Motion by Scott Fischer to sustain the results<br />

of the election. Supported by John Ost and MOTION CARRIED.<br />

Discussed orientation training that was provided to new Chapter Presidents and Chief<br />

Stewards, and advised that steward training will soon be scheduled at the chapters.<br />

Advised that the Union will be sending a letter to leaders on the CTO letter of agreement.<br />

Advised that staff had started a collection to buy a Visa gift card as a retirement gift for<br />

our building manager, Jim Flanders. Motion by Adam Douglas that MCO give Jim<br />

Flanders a $1000 Visa gift card for his retirement. Supported by John Ost and<br />

MOTION CARRIED.<br />

Discussed wages for the Vice President, who will be coming on full time in January.<br />

Motion by Mike Taylor that the wage for the Vice President be $5,000 less than what<br />

the Central Committee authorized for the President, as long as the Vice President<br />

position is full time. Supported by Jim Johnson and MOTION CARRIED. Ray Sholtz<br />

voted no.<br />

Andy Potter reported on the following topics:<br />

Reported on a phone poll he conducted of the board regarding a challenge to the<br />

election of chapter officers at ITF. The board voted to sustain the election.<br />

Reported on the funeral of Officer Bullock, which he attended on behalf of MCO.<br />

Reported on a phone poll of the board to enforce the board's original decision that<br />

Macomb hold a meeting on how to proceed with appointing chapter officials.<br />

Reported that the new election ordered by the board for the Region III Vice President<br />

for the camps was completed.<br />

Mike Taylor reported that he is working on another gun raffle for the Crisis Fund.<br />

As there was no further business, motion was made by John Ost to adjourn. Supported by<br />

Cary Gross and MOTION CARRIED. The meeting stood adjourned at 1:28 p.m.<br />
