As O<strong>is</strong>hi continues down the line of stalls, Chikara’s<br />
attention <strong>is</strong> drawn to a commotion down the alley.<br />
Three brash samurai -- <strong>Not</strong>o HARES from their armor -- make<br />
their way through the street, shouting drunkenly and sharply<br />
slapping people aside with the flat of their blades.<br />
HARE LEADER<br />
Move, you louts!<br />
Merchants and customers scramble to get out of their way. As<br />
they near the stall where Chikara stands, the leader of the<br />
Hares turns to a pretty FRUIT VENDOR GIRL in her stall.<br />
HARE LEADER (CONT’D)<br />
We are hungry. Have you any winter<br />
melons?<br />
FRUIT VENDOR GIRL<br />
No, my lords --<br />
NOTO HARE #1<br />
Lies! She hides them here!<br />
#1 suddenly grabs her and tears her silk robes open, exposing<br />
her generous bosom.<br />
NOTO HARE #1 (CONT’D)<br />
I ask you, are those not melons?!<br />
<strong>The</strong> men laugh as she struggles to cover up, and #1 <strong>is</strong> giving<br />
her breasts a rough squeeze when the HARE LEADER turns and<br />
sees Chikara staring at him.<br />
HARE LEADER<br />
Is there a problem, peasant?<br />
Chikara hesitates. Knows he shouldn’t say anything, but --<br />
