PART I - SCOPE<br />
1. THE BY-LAW<br />
(1) This By-law shall be known as "The <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Virden</strong> <strong>Zoning</strong> By-law".<br />
(2) This By-law shall apply to all <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Virden</strong>.<br />
2. INTENT<br />
The regulations and provisions established by this By-law are deemed necessary in order:<br />
(1) To implement the objectives and policies <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Virden</strong>-Wallace Planning District<br />
Development Plan, being By-law D-2 <strong>of</strong> the said Planning District;<br />
(2) To define and limit the powers and duties <strong>of</strong> the Planning District Board, the Council<br />
and the Development Officer; and<br />
(3) To regulate the following:<br />
a) all buildings and structures erected hereafter;<br />
b) all uses <strong>of</strong> buildings, structures and land established hereafter;<br />
c) all structural alterations or relocations <strong>of</strong> existing buildings and structures<br />
occurring hereafter;<br />
d) all enlargements <strong>of</strong> or additions to existing<br />
buildings, structures or uses; and<br />
e) the change <strong>of</strong> use <strong>of</strong> land, buildings or structures.<br />
3. RELATION TO OTHER BY-LAWS<br />
Whenever the provisions <strong>of</strong> any By-law <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Virden</strong> or the Planning District or<br />
any other requirements <strong>of</strong> the Provincial or Federal Government imposes overlapping<br />
regulations over the use <strong>of</strong> land, buildings or structures, or bulk requirements or contain any<br />
restrictions covering any <strong>of</strong> the same subject matter contained herein, the most restrictive or<br />
highest requirement shall govern.<br />
