Slowing-down Brakes
Series B
NECKAR
Advantages:
Used for shortening the braking step
or to hold at standstill
Add-On brakes for all motors from
size 3 upwards
Designed as safety brake – also functions
during power failure
Properties:
Generally alternating current operated
brakes of the type B 68 AC are used for
alternating current and 3-phase current
motors, which are switched on and off
with the motor winding.
Brakes B 35 DC and B 68 DC are used
for direct current motors. The brakes
should be connected separate from the
motor current to avoid excessive delay.
The shortest brake times are achieved with
4-pole and 8-pole motor design on alternating
current and 3-phase current motors.
Due to the small amount of change in the
brake behaviour depending on the temperature
and service wear the use of sets of
drives with friction brakes for positioning
functions with demands for accuracy are
not recommended. Controls with a rotation
pulse generator or a stepping motor drive
are more suitable for this.
