Renewed ‘Firm Giving’ Aids Students<br />
Gator Alums C<strong>on</strong>tribute 100% to Boost LFGP Support<br />
Dozens <strong>of</strong> UF<strong>Law</strong> alumni at more than<br />
25 <strong>of</strong>fices throughout <strong>Florida</strong> – and<br />
<strong>on</strong>e in Washingt<strong>on</strong> – took to heart a<br />
competitive giving program announced<br />
for 2002-03, and as a result helped <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong> achieve its fiscal year<br />
Annual Fund goal <strong>of</strong> $500,000.<br />
UF’s <strong>Law</strong> Firm Giving Program<br />
(LFGP), which encourages 100 percent<br />
participati<strong>on</strong> by Gator grads working in<br />
any firm’s <strong>of</strong>fice or <strong>of</strong>fices, in its renewal<br />
year saw 29 units <strong>of</strong> 21 firms in 10 <strong>Florida</strong><br />
cities – and <strong>the</strong> nati<strong>on</strong>’s capital – reach<br />
<strong>the</strong> goal. (There is no minimum amount<br />
each participant must give.)<br />

Alumni Council president, champi<strong>on</strong>ed<br />
reinstatement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> program al<strong>on</strong>g with<br />
three o<strong>the</strong>r Gators in his Goodlette<br />
Coleman & Johns<strong>on</strong> P.A. firm in Naples.<br />
Plus <strong>the</strong>y decided to fund <strong>the</strong> Land Use<br />
Planning & C<strong>on</strong>trol Book Award.<br />
<strong>Law</strong> firm with <strong>of</strong>fices in most number<br />
<strong>of</strong> cities with 100 percent UF<strong>Law</strong><br />
alum participati<strong>on</strong> is Carlt<strong>on</strong> Fields P.A.<br />
– with 33 employees in Miami, Orlando,<br />
St. Petersburg, Tallahassee and West Palm<br />
Beach getting involved. Next was Gray<br />
Harris & Robins<strong>on</strong> P.A., with 30 employees<br />
in four cities – Lakeland, Melbourne,<br />
Tampa and Tallahassee – participating.<br />
Single <strong>of</strong>fice with most participati<strong>on</strong><br />
– 18 UF<strong>Law</strong> employees <strong>of</strong> Hill Ward<br />
& Henders<strong>on</strong> P.A. in Tampa, who<br />
directed <strong>the</strong>ir funds be used to set up a<br />
HW&H Book Award in Pr<strong>of</strong>essi<strong>on</strong>al<br />
Resp<strong>on</strong>sibility & <strong>the</strong> Legal Pr<strong>of</strong>essi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

efforts to involve 15 Gator alums in<br />
Jacks<strong>on</strong>ville and Tampa <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong><br />
Akerman Senterfitt.<br />

<strong>the</strong> job to hear <strong>of</strong> this program’s success<br />
and <strong>the</strong> enthusiastic involvement<br />
<strong>of</strong> firms and attorneys throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
