Former <strong>Florida</strong> Governors, U.S. Senators, <strong>College</strong> Presidents, Justices<br />

Named to New UF<strong>Law</strong> Heritage Society for Notable Alumni<br />

Two <strong>Florida</strong> Governors and U.S. Senators,<br />

two college presidents and five State<br />

Supreme Court Chief Justices are am<strong>on</strong>g<br />

12 graduates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Levin</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Law</strong><br />

inducted posthumously this spring in to a<br />

new Heritage <strong>of</strong> Leadership (HOL) Recogniti<strong>on</strong> Society.<br />

O<strong>the</strong>rs named by <strong>the</strong> school’s <strong>Law</strong> Center<br />

Associati<strong>on</strong> include a distinguished U.S. District<br />

Court Judge and Miami-Dade County civic leader,<br />

first chairman <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> old <strong>Florida</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Regents,<br />

and a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nazi War Crimes Tribunal at<br />

Nuremburg.<br />

Inducti<strong>on</strong> cerem<strong>on</strong>ies were part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> law<br />

school’s annual Spring Reuni<strong>on</strong> Weekend, with family<br />

members <strong>of</strong> 10 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> inductees <strong>on</strong> hand. Space<br />

h<strong>on</strong>oring <strong>the</strong>se and all future HOL inductees will be<br />

featured in <strong>the</strong> expanded law school facilities.<br />

“Since our founding more than 90 years ago,<br />

many <strong>of</strong> our more than 16,000 graduates have been<br />

am<strong>on</strong>g <strong>the</strong> nati<strong>on</strong>’s leaders in law, business, educati<strong>on</strong><br />

and government,” said <strong>the</strong>n-Dean J<strong>on</strong> Mills. “It is<br />

time to begin formally and permanently recognizing<br />

<strong>the</strong>se outstanding alumni who have d<strong>on</strong>e so much for<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir country, this state and university.”<br />
