PLAYER DEVELOPMENT 17 HIGH PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE 17.1 OVERVIEW a The High Performance Committee shall be responsible for raising the performance of adult B.C. squash players in provincial, national and international competition. 17.2 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES a Shall establish policies and procedures for all areas of the High Performance Program. b Shall establish selection and evaluation procedures for athletes and coaches involved in the High Performance Program and Senior Provincial Teams. c Shall select and recommend for appointment the Senior Provincial Coach and his/her assistant(s). d The Canadian Masters Teams and Mens & Womens teams are programs that fall under the High Performance Committee. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT 18 CANADIAN MASTERS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS 18.1 The Canadian Masters Team Championships are to be held on the second weekend of January of each year. 18.2 Each team will consist of 4 men and 3 women. The men will have a 40+, 45+, 50+ & 55+ and the Women have a 40+, 45+ & 50+. (Teams may have 2 men 45+ but not 2 40+) 18.3 Selection will be based on the following: a The teams will be chosen primarily by Squash BC rankings b However if players are within 25 points, head to head results over the past 12 months may be taken into account. c More recent results are more important than earlier results so results from this season are more important. d If it’s still close then a playoff will be scheduled. 18.4 Team order will use the same criteria as 18.3. 18.5 The team will be selected on or near Dec. 1 st . 18.6 Selected team members will be expected to purchase their tickets to the event within two weeks of being notified they are on the team. 18.7 The selection committee will consist of the Squash BC Executive Director, VP of Player Development and two Squash BC Player Representatives. 18.8 Squash BC has budgeted $3000.00 for this event which will pay the team entry fees and subsidize players equally with the remaining amount. 18.9 Unless a sponsor or funding agency is acquired, all other costs must be the responsibility of the players who wish to go. If a sponsor or funding agency is acquired, all players will be subsidized equally. 18.10 Players must register by Nov. 15 by notifying the Executive Director of Squash BC 15
