FUNDING<br />

2 GENERAL ATHLETE FUNDING POLICIES<br />

<strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> members have benefits that all members partake in throughout the year. These include<br />

the insurance program, being ranked, participating in events at reduced rates etc. However, in<br />

order to receive extra funding from <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong>, whether it be from <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> general revenues,<br />

Government sources as in Grants or Gaming, Gudewill Fund, Jesters Funding or any other funding<br />

<strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> facilitates to our members, athletes must follow these policies;<br />

2.1 Be a member in good standing with <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong>.<br />

2.2 Be a targeted athlete or chosen for a <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> team or squad<br />

2.3 Signed and returned to <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> a <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong>’s Training Squads/Teams Athlete<br />

Agreement, Waiver & Information form or any other form sent to athletes.<br />

2.4 Follow the policies of the various squads/teams.<br />

2.5 To receive funding in a juniors last year of Under 17 competition, that junior must have<br />

taken the officiating certification course<br />

2.6 To receive funding in a juniors last year of junior competition, that junior must be trained at<br />

the Foundations Coach level.<br />

2.7 Athletes may lose their funding or be made members not in good standing for the following<br />

reasons and these sanctions will be in effect for rest of the current playing season, (Sept-<br />

May.)<br />

a Has been asked by <strong>Squash</strong> <strong>BC</strong> to participate on a squad/team and has refused, that athlete may<br />

lose their funding opportunities.<br />

b Have not followed the policies of the Athlete Agreement, Squads or Teams.<br />

c If an athlete receives a conduct match by a certified official.<br />

2.8 Athlete programs and funding that fall under these policies are:<br />

a Men’s, Women’s and Master’s Provincial Teams<br />

b Athlete Assistance Program<br />

c Canada Winter Games<br />

d Junior Provincial and Regional Squads<br />

e Gudewill Funding<br />

f Jesters Funding<br />

g In Province Youth Travel Funding<br />

h <strong>BC</strong> Games<br />

2.9 The Grassroots Program does not fall under these policies.<br />
