Medina County Community Fund
FAMILY OF FUNDSSS
The Medina County Community Fund was established in
1994 as a permanent philanthropic endowment and an
affiliate fund of Akron Community Foundation. Today,
the fund continues to improve the quality of life of all
Medina County residents.
Every year, the fund’s income supports
a wide range of cultural, educational,
health and human-services programs.
It also encourages philanthropy among its
residents, building lasting, collective support
for the county’s many nonprofit organizations.
This past year, the Medina County
Community Fund awarded grants totaling
$
27,363 to nine local nonprofits. As a result,
low-income Medina County residents
received housing, health care and
prescription assistance, students improved
their reading skills and senior citizens
enjoyed performances and training from
a local dance ensemble.

TOP: The mission of Northeast Ohio Dance Ensemble is to provide value
through dance. Its adult dance program, funded by Medina County
Community Fund, allows senior citizens to learn more about dance
from fellow adult and senior performers.
BOTTOM: Through land trusts like the Medina Summit Land Conservancy,
individuals can protect their land from future development. The Medina
County Community Fund made a grant for a study to help develop future
land-acquisition priorities.
