<strong>Akron</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> seeks<br />
to improve the quality of life in the<br />
Greater <strong>Akron</strong> area through the<br />
development of organized<br />
philanthropy. To fulfill this mission,<br />
the foundation is committed to:<br />
Serving <strong>Akron</strong> and surrounding areas with creative, visionary<br />
and sensitive grants that address the evolving needs of an area<br />
experiencing rapid economic and social change.<br />
Devoting special emphasis to programs that enrich the<br />
community in the distinct areas of Arts and Culture, Education,<br />
Health and Human Services, and Civic Affairs.<br />
Advising donors in the areas of their particular concerns and<br />
assisting them in achieving the most beneficial results.<br />
Performing as a responsible solicitor and prudent manager<br />
of philanthropic assets created through charitable gifts<br />
and bequests.<br />
Demonstrating community leadership by seeking innovative<br />
programs and acting as a catalyst in identifying problems and<br />
sharing information with other organizations.<br />
