are amounts payable to Mr Ray Bates, who retired as <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong><br />
Director on 9 June, 2006.<br />
The amounts above with respect to payments on retirement represent<br />
payments made under the normal terms of the An Post early retirement<br />
scheme, including €490,000 of additional pension contributions made<br />
to the An Post superannuation schemes.<br />
Mr Bates entered into a three year consultancy agreement with the<br />
Company, commencing on 10 June, 2006, on agreed commercial terms.<br />
These include payment of €30,000 per annum for the provision of services.<br />

In addition, the Company recognised costs of €500,000 (2006: €2,850,000)<br />
with respect to organisational restructuring costs during the year.<br />
