It recognises the outstanding academic achievement of students from Victoria, Australia and around the world. The University of Melbourne is also committed to providing access to higher education to students who might otherwise be excluded by socioeconomic, cultural, geographic and other disadvantages, and we offer a range of opportunities for those applicants. 2
Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program In 2012, the University of Melbourne is introducing six new versions of our New Generation degrees for very high-achieving students. Chancellor’s Scholars will receive a range of benefits and will be guaranteed a place in the graduate program of their choice Q . This guarantee includes the University’s flagship degrees such as the Doctor of Medicine, Juris Doctor (Law), Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Optometry, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and the Master of Architecture. Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program degrees: • Bachelor of Arts (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) • Bachelor of Biomedicine (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) • Bachelor of Commerce (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) • Bachelor of Environments (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) • Bachelor of Music (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) • Bachelor of Science (Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program) Benefits Eligibility Applications Chancellor’s Scholars’ Program Students selected into the program will receive: • Melbourne National Scholarship (domestic students only) • International students will be considered for an International Undergraduate Scholarship (ranging from 100% fee remission to $10 000 fee remission) • Melbourne Global Scholars Award to support study overseas • Internship • Guaranteed place in any professional masters by coursework degree at the University (domestic students will receive a guaranteed Commonwealth Supported Place, international students will receive a guaranteed international fee place)Q. • Available to domestic and international students who have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia in 2011 • Students must achieve an ATAR or notional ATAR of 99.90 or above and have satisfied the prerequisites for their nominated course • Applicants for the Bachelor of Music must also meet the extra requirements for this course. Students with an ATAR below 99.90 may be considered if places are available. Students must apply for the relevant course through VTAC. VTAC application dates apply. No separate scholarship application is required. Number available: All students who meet the eligibility criteria will be granted entry into the program. Q Excludes the Master of Music Therapy, Master of Psychology and Master of Genetic Counselling.
