an undergraduate degree.<br />
Indigenous Commonwealth<br />
Accommodation <strong>Scholarships</strong>:<br />
• Annual allowance for up to four years <strong>of</strong><br />
an undergraduate degree.<br />
Commonwealth Indigenous Access<br />
Payments:<br />
• One-<strong>of</strong>f lump sum payment in first year<br />
<strong>of</strong> the degree.<br />
Number available: Dependant on<br />
government funding.<br />
All Indigenous students who apply for Access<br />
Melbourne will be considered.<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Melbourne course in 2012.<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s must also submit a SEAS<br />
application through VTAC.<br />

11 October 2011.<br />
No separate scholarship application is<br />
required.<br />
Other Indigenous <strong>Scholarships</strong><br />
The <strong>University</strong>’s Murrup Barak Melbourne<br />
Institute for Indigenous Education<br />
administers the Indigenous Scholarship<br />
Program, which provides specific<br />
scholarships such as housing bursaries,<br />
book vouchers, assistance with living costs<br />
and general grants.<br />
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:<br />
• They are an Indigenous person <strong>of</strong> Australia<br />
• They meet the eligibility requirements <strong>of</strong> the<br />
scholarship.<br />

Eleanor and Joseph Wertheim <strong>Scholarships</strong><br />
• $20 000 annual payment for the<br />
normal duration <strong>of</strong> the course, subject<br />
to satisfying academic progress<br />
requirements.<br />
Number available: Up to two.<br />
To be considered, applicants must:<br />
• Be an unmarried female <strong>of</strong> at least 25 years<br />
<strong>of</strong> age at the application closing date<br />
• Be an undergraduate, graduate coursework<br />
or research student enrolled or planning to<br />
enrol full time (at least 37.5 credit points per<br />
semester) at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Melbourne<br />
• Have at least 12 months left to complete<br />
their course<br />
• Receive a means-tested Centrelink benefit<br />
• Provide evidence <strong>of</strong> social or financially<br />
compelling circumstances such as refugee<br />
background, medical condition or disability.<br />
Eligible applicants must submit a direct<br />
application to Melbourne <strong>Scholarships</strong>.<br />
