Officer’s Reports
From the Archery
Marshal
I really do not have anything to
report, as of this date, in activities in
archery other than the events that I
and others have attended. I do hope
to get a few practices set and am wondering
now as to where and when you, the Shire,
would like to do this. If you would like to get
together at our place, then I need to get some
work done so we can shoot and throw at the
same time. If you would rather do it at the
range north of Mason City then that is okay as
well; however, if we do I will only go if two or
more will show up. If we do it at our home
then I am normally here.
If you are going to Kings Company of Archers
I would suggest getting some practice in at
longer yardages. A few more scoring arrows at
forty and several more at thirty make the total
scores much higher. The years that I have
won, I never had a very high score on the
clout, so shooting okay at forty and good at
thirty and excellent at twenty will get you a
long way up the leader board.
Also we still have bows, arrows and back
stops.
From the Herald
Greetings from your Herald Pursuivant!
Anna’s device has finally been returned
at Laurel, so we can implement the
backup plan we came up with last year.
Vincent de Vere was given the Queen’s Endorsement
of Distinction (QED) for Courtesy
for his work with the Broken Harp.
Congratulations!
From the Chronicler
Thank you once again to all who
helped contribute to this issue with
articles and photos. I appreciate
everyone’s timeliness on getting
items to me. I was hoping to have this published
on July 1 st , but due to an unexpected
illness, it set me back nearly a week. Thankfully
I was able to pull things together in a
few days.
Just a couple of things from the Kingdom
level. We have a new Kingdom Chronicler
and the deadlines for Mews flyers has
changed. You just need to have the submissions
to them one month prior to publication.
This will make things a little easier on
our end, but I would still like to get flyer submissions
in as soon as possible.
Also, I have renewed my warrant and
Shire Chronicler so that should be good for
the next couple of years.
I am looking at publishing the next news
letter on October 6 th . I will more than likely
be out of town the last week of September, so
