Foundation Giving $30 D OL L A RS IN BIL L IONS Following a year of relatively modest growth in giving, grantmaking by U.S. foundations rose 13.8 percent in 2007. Overall, the nation’s more than 75,000 grantmaking foundations $10 increased giving from $39 billion in 2006 to $0 $44.4 '98 billion '99 00 in '01 2007, '02while '03 their '04 assets '05 '06 climbed '07 from $614.7 billion to $682.2 billion.
