Oral Presentation by KU Member at MBC 2010
International Seminar by KU & FFTC
On October 26, 2010, it was an
honor that Associate Professor Vudtechai
Kapilakanchana, President, Kasetsart
University delivered a welcoming address at
the Opening Ceremony of the international
seminar on “Improved Utilization of Fishery
By-Products as Potential Nutraceuticals
and Functional Foods” jointly organized by
Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University
and Food and Fertilizer Technology Center
for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC),
Taiwan during October 25-29, 2010 at the
Meeting Room 303, the Boon Intarumphun
Building, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart
University. The seminar is aimed to promote
exchange of knowledge and technology
on the said topic. In this connection,
Dr. Jen-Chyuan Lee, Director of Food and
Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian
and Pacific Region (FFTC) presided over
the Opening Ceremony of the said seminar with
Assist. Prof. Dr. Suriyan Tunkijjanukit, Dean of
Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University giving
the report. The seminar was honored by 14
invited speakers who were experts on the said
topic from renowned universities and research
institutions in 9 countries, Taiwan, Japan,
Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, the
Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
This seminar gathered participants from
universities, research institutions, government
agencies, and concerned companies nationwide,
altogether 80 persons. The activities of this
seminar comprised academic paper presentations
and visits to Bangkok Aquarium, Department of
Fisheries, Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus,
and T.C. Union Agrotech Co., Ltd. In addition,
it was an honor that on October 27, 2010
Assist. Prof. Dr. Suriyan Tunkijjanukij, Dean of
Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University, was
the chairperson for the Closing Ceremony of
the seminar.
On this occasion, Associate Professor
Vudtechai Kapilakanchana, President, Kasetsart
University and Dr. Jen-Chyuan Lee, Director of Food
and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and
Pacific Region (FFTC) signed the Memorandum of
Understanding between the two institutions on
October 28, 2010 at 15.00 hrs., at the Kamphol
Adulavidhaya Conference Room, the 2 nd Floor, the
Kasetsart Golden Jubilee Administration and
Information Center. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lily Kaveeta,
Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs,
Assist. Prof. Dr. Suriyan Tunkijjanukij, Dean of
Faculty of Fisheries, Prof. Uthairat Na Nakorn,
Director of Kasetsart University Research and
Development Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyong
Paisooksantivatana, Associate Dean For Academic
Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, invited speakers
from the seminar and concerned faculty members
