Retford Heritage Trail 

Retford Town Hall

The route follows the “Retford Heritage Trail” 

devised by the Retford Civic Society. The walk 

will take in the town’s Georgian and Victorian 

frontages and coaching inns and will bear 

witness to the prosperity brought to the town by 

the Great North Road (1766), the Chesterfield 

Canal (1777) and the railways (1849)
