before Richland's Corey Poynor battled
from fourth place to the lead, only to
be bumped off the track in Turn 6 late
in the race. Michael Schorn used the
opportunity to slide into the lead late
and held on for his fifth Duffy.
Groff made his way through the
madness to finish second, with Richland's
David Dean taking third.
Cathey ended up finishing fourth
while Keith Foux of Red Bluff, Calif.,
took fifth.
Briggs Gas Animal
Alan Cathey captured his second
Duffy of the weekend and sixth overall
after battling it out with Tristan Orear
and Terry Lawrence.
Cathey and Orear, the pole winner,
traded the lead position early before
Lawrence passed both drivers midway
through the race.
Cathey stormed back to steal away the
lead again late and then held off Orear at
the final turn in an exciting finish.
Brett Lucas wound up finishing third
while Austin Moen of Pendleton, Ore.,
finished fourth. Connor McNiel rounded
out the podium with a fifth place finish.
Junior 1 Briggs Gas Animal Medium
Davey Manthei Jr followed up a second-place
finish in day one with a dominating
performance in the Jr I Briggs
Gas Animal Medium on day two.
Manthei Jr dominated the heat race
and did the same during the final,
jumping out to a huge lead in which he
was never challenged.
Sting Ray Robb took second, Brittney
Zamora finished third and Ken
Hoobery III of Santa Maria, Calif., finished
fourth.
Canadian driver Kyle Adams of New
Westminster, British Columbia, finished
fifth.
