in the race. Michael Schorn used the<br />

opportunity to slide into the lead late<br />

and held on for his fifth Duffy.<br />

Groff made his way through the<br />

madness to finish second, with Richland's<br />

David Dean taking third.<br />

Cathey ended up finishing fourth<br />

while Keith Foux of Red Bluff, Calif.,<br />

took fifth.<br />

Briggs Gas Animal<br />

Alan Cathey captured his second<br />

Duffy of the weekend and sixth overall<br />

after battling it out with Tristan Orear<br />

and Terry Lawrence.<br />

Cathey and Orear, the pole winner,<br />

traded the lead position early before<br />

Lawrence passed both drivers midway<br />

through the race.<br />

Cathey stormed back to steal away the<br />

lead again late and then held off Orear at<br />

the final turn in an exciting finish.<br />

Brett Lucas wound up finishing third<br />

while Austin Moen of Pendleton, Ore.,<br />

finished fourth. Connor McNiel rounded<br />

out the podium with a fifth place finish.<br />

Junior 1 Briggs Gas Animal Medium<br />

Davey Manthei Jr followed up a second-place<br />

finish in day one with a dominating<br />

performance in the Jr I Briggs<br />

Gas Animal Medium on day two.<br />

Manthei Jr dominated the heat race<br />

and did the same during the final,<br />

jumping out to a huge lead in which he<br />

was never challenged.<br />

Sting Ray Robb took second, Brittney<br />

Zamora finished third and Ken<br />

Hoobery III of Santa Maria, Calif., finished<br />

fourth.<br />

Canadian driver Kyle Adams of New<br />

Westminster, British Columbia, finished<br />

fifth.<br />
