Looking Ahead: Tentative Deadlines
Spring 2004
OCTOBER 1-31, 2003
• Open filing period for undergrads to apply for
intercampus transfer for spring 2004 quarter.
• Open filing period to apply for readmission/
reinstatement for spring 2004. Applications to
be filed by students who have been absent
for one or more quarters or who withdrew
within the last quarter of attendance.
MID-DECEMBER
• Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) for 2004-2005 is available in the
Financial Aid Office.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2004
• Spring 2004 registration appointment times
available on GOLD.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2
• Final date for submitting application,
application fee, and supporting materials to
the Grad Division for spring 2004 consideration.
Department deadlines may differ.
TUESDAY, MARCH 2
• Deadline for continuing, new, and returning
students to apply for 2004-2005 UCSB financial
aid (UC Grant, Cal Grant A or B, Supplemental
Grant, Perkins Loan, and Work-Study).
Students completing a paper FAFSA should
get a Certificate of Mailing.
MONDAY, MARCH 15
• Undergraduate Student payment deadline for
“Now Due Charges” for spring 2004.
SUNDAY, MARCH 28
• Spring quarter begins.
• Pre-instructional activities: orientation,
counseling, testing, academic advising.
MONDAY, MARCH 29
• Instruction begins.
• Grad Student payment deadline for “Now
Due Charges” for spring 2004 Reg Fees.
MONDAY, APRIL 12
• Last day to declare candidacy for the spring
2004 undergraduate degree.
APRIL 19 - MAY 24
• Commencement Pass 2. Seniors with at least
164 units completed or in progress during the
spring 2004 quarter must reserve a spot to
participate in Commencement.
MONDAY, MAY 31
• Memorial Day Holiday.
THURSDAY, JUNE 3
• Instruction ends.
FRIDAY, JUNE 4
• Study day (No classes, no finals)
JUNE 5-11
• Final examinations.

filed by students who have been absent for
one or more quarters or who withdrew within
the last quarter of attendance. Generally,
readmission/reinstatement requests will be
accepted until approximately six weeks prior
to the beginning of the quarter.
