When you start a company, you have some legal choices about how you set it
up. The three main forms of business are: sole proprietorships, partnerships,
and corporations. One place where you can find on-line information on the legal
process is with the Washington State Department of Licensing, Master License
Service at www.dol.wa.gov or (360) 664-1400.
Call the Bellevue Entrepreneur Center (BEC) at (425) 464-2888 for further
business information. Eastside business owners, particularly women, minority
and immigrant businesses, can use a range of business services at no cost that
are pre-paid by government, private industry, and community organizations. The
services range from business counseling, referrals for help with financing and
training, and consulting projects that harness the expertise from colleges and
volunteer experts. These organizations invest in the BEC because they know
that helping small business owners generates new taxes, expands business, and
provides incomes and jobs for our community.

The Jump Start Fund offers loans to those with refugee or asylee status
