Dabur has set up Dabur <strong>Lanka</strong> Pvt. Ltd <strong>in</strong> <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong>.<br />
The new plant will be set up at Gampaha, north <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Colombo</strong> by Sep’12. Spread over 50 acres it will<br />
have the capacity to produce 2.8 lakh cases <strong>of</strong><br />
fruit-based beverages per month and will be exportoriented.<br />
The <strong>in</strong>vestment plan <strong>in</strong> the com<strong>in</strong>g 3 years<br />
is around Rs.125cr <strong>of</strong> which about Rs.70 cr will go<br />
<strong>in</strong> on sett<strong>in</strong>g up the new manufactur<strong>in</strong>g facility. The<br />
plant, once operational, will employ approximately<br />
75 people, and the <strong>in</strong>tention is to <strong>in</strong>crease the<br />
number gradually to around 200 by 2013-14.<br />
17) Indocean Developers Private Limited<br />
Indocean Developers (Private) Ltd, a company <strong>of</strong><br />
South City Projects (Kolkata) Limited (SCPKL),<br />
has acquired two-acres <strong>of</strong> land opposite the Beira<br />
Lake for an upmarket condom<strong>in</strong>ium development.<br />
Indocean Developers Pvt. Ltd has 150 years <strong>of</strong><br />
real estate development experience with more<br />
than 10 million sq. feet <strong>of</strong> development to its credit,<br />
some <strong>of</strong> which are the South City Mall, South City<br />
De-velopment, South City Garden and South City<br />
P<strong>in</strong>nacle. The company prides itself <strong>in</strong> contribut<strong>in</strong>g<br />
to the environment us<strong>in</strong>g world-class development<br />
methods which will redef<strong>in</strong>e the entire skyl<strong>in</strong>e <strong>of</strong> the<br />
city <strong>of</strong> <strong>Colombo</strong> will be launched shortly. Indocean<br />
Developers Pvt. Ltd. <strong>in</strong> its first development project<br />
outside <strong>India</strong>, recently announced the start <strong>of</strong> a 400<br />
million dollar development project along <strong>Colombo</strong>‘s<br />
Beira Lake.<br />
18) Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd<br />
<strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Lanka</strong>‘s Ports Authority have approved about<br />
$200 million project by Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd,<br />
to set up sugar ref<strong>in</strong>ery project <strong>in</strong> Hambantota Port.<br />
Shree Renuka Sugar is currently the 5th largest<br />
sugar producer <strong>in</strong> the world, lead<strong>in</strong>g manufacturer<br />
<strong>of</strong> sugar <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong> and one <strong>of</strong> the largest ref<strong>in</strong>ers<br />
globally. It operates 7 sugar mills <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong> with a total<br />
crush<strong>in</strong>g capacity <strong>of</strong> 35,000 tons crushed per day<br />
and two large port based ref<strong>in</strong>er-ies with capacity <strong>of</strong><br />
1.7 million tons per annum.<br />
