Teaching Area <strong>of</strong> Interest - Teaching Area <strong>of</strong> Interest<br />

Building Electronic Class to help meet the scheduling needs <strong>of</strong> students and help<br />

facilit<strong>at</strong>e the learning process.<br />

<strong>The</strong> course is coordin<strong>at</strong>ed through a lecture series carefully designed to<br />

incorpor<strong>at</strong>e different learning styles including verbal, visual, nonverbal,<br />

auditory, and kinesthetic. Course content is managed electronically (with<br />

hardcopy backup) using a computerize black-board learning system. While<br />

the course standardized by c<strong>at</strong>alogue, course level and textbook, the course<br />

differenti<strong>at</strong>es by customizing: exam, assignments, and lectures based on<br />

previous semester students feedback. Current assessment includes: 6<br />

quizzes, 3 test, 1 writing assignment, and 1 final.<br />

Quantit<strong>at</strong>ive methods are used to ensure a well-rounded successful future<br />

contributing aluminous. <strong>The</strong> course uses simple st<strong>at</strong>istical<br />

methods: visualiz<strong>at</strong>ion, classific<strong>at</strong>ion, and summariz<strong>at</strong>ion. <strong>The</strong> course uses<br />

simple business methods: decision analysis and optimiz<strong>at</strong>ion from a<br />

marketing perspective. <strong>The</strong> course uses m<strong>at</strong>hem<strong>at</strong>ical techniques: algebra,<br />

differential geometry, and trigonometry (identities, r<strong>at</strong>ios, and equ<strong>at</strong>ions) to<br />

analyze models. Students also use basic calculus (deriv<strong>at</strong>ive; partial<br />

deriv<strong>at</strong>ives) to understand the marginal rel<strong>at</strong>ionships.<br />
