1st Dalry

2nd Route
Mr Geoffrey Robinson recently retired
as Captain of 2nd Route in Northern
Ireland, having held the position for
the past 37 years. He is pictured in the
centre with, the Company Chaplain,
Rev’d Noel McClean, the new Captain,
Mr Thomas Skelton and the Offi cers of
the 2nd Route.
Knocknamuckley
Pictured is the Knocknamuckley U14
football team, winners of the Lurgan
Battalion tournament.
1st Market Weighton
The Company celebrated its 30th
anniversary in 2012. The main celebrations
took place in November with a weekend full
of events. These included a fi reworks and
BBQ, a takeover of local radio station Vixen
101 by the Seniors, a trip to Waterworld
and a service of rededication. Pictured
is the Colour Party for the rededication
service and Samantha Huxley, Daniel Lee,
Callum Henderson and Andrew Robinson
with their Queen’s Badge awards.
2nd Chard

Battalion Vice President.
Founder’s Celebration
Service in Stirling
Boys’ Brigade members, leaders and
supporters celebrated the beginning of
the Brigade’s 130th year in style with a
very different Founder’s Celebration
Service at Allan Park South Church. Over
200 young people attended and were led
in celebration of the Brigade’s Founder,
Sir William Smith, by Royal Foundlings,
Scotland’s premier Christian rock band,
that put on an incredible set of uplifting,
original and inspiring music. The
band’s lead guitarist and vocalist, Dave
Brackenridge, spoke to the young people
about growing up through the BB.
Glasgow Battalion
On Saturday 24th November 2012 the
Glasgow Battalion hosted its annual
Chanter and Solo Piping contest. Boys
from all over the greater Glasgow area
gathered at South Shawlands Church to
take part. Former 108th Glasgow member
Peter Maxwell (Milngavie Pipe Band)
adjudicated and commented that “The
competition was very diffi cult to judge and
there is a lot of promising young talent”.
Special thanks goes to Wallace Bagpipes
for their kind donation and continuous
support of the Glasgow Battalion and their
efforts to raise the profi le of piping and
drumming within The Boys’ Brigade.
1st Chester-le-
Street
The Company celebrated its Diamond
Jubilee in style with a variety of events
and presentations during 2012. There
were President’s and Queen’s Badges
to award, boys attending Trooping
the Colour and special services and a
celebratory meal. The Company also
increased its membership by over 10%.
