We all know that being part of The Boys’ Brigade
is lots of fun, but it also impacts children,
young people and leaders in a way that lasts
and shapes lives.
There are so many children & young people out there
desperate for activities to join in with in their communities who
at the moment don’t come to BB. There are also talented
people who would like to offer their skills if only they knew how.
The BB has a wide range of resources to help Companies
recruit volunteers. Find out more about what is available below

Recruitment Tool Box
The Recruitment Tool Box is
your guide to recruitment for
volunteers containing lots of
ideas on how your Company
could recruit. In addition there
is advice on the selection,
management and retention of
volunteers, as well as a
self-assessment tool to
help your Company. The
Recruitment Tool Box can
be downloaded online.
Leaflets & Posters
A range of leafl ets and posters
are available that focus on different audiences
and work alongside the Recruitment Toolbox.
Online Resources
There are also lots of additional resources available
online including:
• PowerPoint presentations –
with accompanying notes to help talk about The Boys’
Brigade with potential volunteers.
• Skills Questionnaire – customise and circulate the Skills
Questionnaire to parents & family of members to fi nd out
what they do for work and in their spare time and how they
might be able to help with your Company programme.
• Student Invitation – designed to be given out to
students to invite them to a volunteering event.
• Church Service – an outline which can be used as part
of a service in your Church to consider recruitment of
volunteers in continuing the outreach that the BB provides.
• Moving Away – for anyone moving away from their
current location, and wishes to continue their involvement
in The Boys’ Brigade. Complete the form and your
Regional Headquarters will help to match them up to
a new Company.
• Press Releases – range of sample press releases
which can be edited to suit local needs.
